Macrobiotics is based on a variety of international food traditions. It includes soup, whole grains, land and sea vegetables, beans, soyfoods, seafood and fish, seeds and nuts, fruits, natural sweeteners, seasonings, beverages. Macrobiotics has a lot of variety and is very flexible.

One can practice for healing and regeneration for enjoyment. To begin, it is best to take cooking classes from a macrobiotic cooking instructore, but if one does not exist in your area, you can be successful by beginning with a good cook book, e.g.:

The Self-Healing Cookbook, by Katherine Turner

American Macrobiotic Cuisine, by Meredith McCarty
